2019 CAF Champions League final was marred with Controversy as officials argued, fans jumped in and threw projectiles into the pitch.

But Esperance Tunis are the winners of the 2019 Caf Champions League after Wydad Casablanca refused to continue the match in the second half.

In the 41st minute, Mohamed Belaili feeling at a packed home, Stade Olympique de Rades, drew the first blood. This gave a lead of 2-1 on goal aggregate entering into the second half.

In the 58th minute, Wydad Casablanca Walid El Karti equalizer was ruled offside and Ref Bakary Gassama refused to take the VAR review. Controversy ensued hence.

And for more than an hour after the play was stopped, the referee after following the protocol declared the match abandoned.

Just two days ago Ref Gehad Grisha was suspended for six months after bad officiating of the first leg Wydad vs Esperance in Morocco.
