THE ZAMBIAN SUPER LEAGUE Soars to cloud six of the African football sky.
The MTN Zambia Super League has kept making giants leaps of Progress on the African football hierarchy.
According to information released by CAF last night, the Zambia Super League has moved from position seven sneaking into position 6 a leap above the South African league and one behind the DRC league.
The Arab LEAGUE’S have continued with their dominance of African football and as expected the Tunisian league is the best ranked followed by Morroco then Egypt on number three and Algeria is ranked fourth.
The Zambian super league has been a shining star and beacon of fluidity since Supersport came in a couple of years ago. Other factors that have led to the rise of the league is Zambia’s impressive performance in the Champions league with Zesco reaching the group stages in the last three editions.
As the 2019/2020 season beckons, the league will have Zesco United, Green Eagles, ZANACO and Buildcon to defend the position of the league and even push the league into the top five brackets of African football.
There has however been an influx of Foreign based played prowling in almost every team and it has brought a public uproar. The influx of Foreign players has led to some sections of the Zambian football stakeholders calling for a limited number of Foreign players in the league.
Should Foreign players a team can sign be limited in the Zambian league?
