The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has decided that the 2023 Absa Cup final will be hosted as originally planned in Lusaka, naming the Woodlands Stadium as the new venue.
The final – featuring Forest Rangers and FC MUZA – was originally scheduled for the National Heroes Stadium on 20th May.
A FAZ official close to the development told zedsoccer.com that two stadiums – Nkoloma and Woodlands – were inspected last week due the unavailability of the National Heroes Stadium on the 27th May, and in conjunction with Absa Bank and government officials, Woodlands was confirmed as the new venue on Tuesday.
In a social media update, the FAZ said: “It’s Woodlands Stadium for the #2023AbsaCupFinal this Saturday, 27 May! Tickets available from K20 at Shoprite via CompuTicket.”
The FAZ further stated that tickets purchased before the venue was changed remained valid.
