Power Dynamos gave away a first half lead to lose 2-1 in their 2023 Absa Cup semi-final played at Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday.
Fredrick Mulambia gave the two-time Absa Cup champions a 6th minute lead, which they kept until Moyela Libamba equalised in the 70th minute.
As the match looked like it would be decided on post match penalties, Cephas Mulombwa fired home in additional time to give Forest Rangers the victory, breaking the hearts of Power Dynamos fans who had turned at the stadium for the first time this year.
Mulombwa walked away with the man-of-the-match award worth K15,000.00.
It was all joy for Forest Rangers fans whose team will face the winner of the second semi-final between Trident FC and FC MUZA.
The second semi-final will hold at Arthur Davies Stadium on Sunday.
With previous winners, Power Dynamos, out of the picture, victory for Forest Rangers means that there will be a new Absa Cup champion this year.
