The electricity boys Zesco United suffered yet another humiliating defeat in the Total Caf confederations cup group stage round five game.
This time defeat was delivered at the hands of Nkana who hammered Zesco United 3 to nothing. The third defeat spell out doom for the Lwandamina side.
After losing 3-1 in Sudan last weekend Zega Mambo Zesco had to face their country rival Kalampa Nkana on Sunday 10th March 2019.
From the initial dry spell that broke at 0-0 half time Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba opened the scores with a superb strike in the 62′ minute. Then Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba and Shadrick Musonda added each in the dying minutes of the game.
The win sees The Red Devils of Zambia top the group with 9 points awaiting the outcome of the other encounter involving Asante Kotoko and Al Hilal.
Asante Kototo and Al Hilal are sitting 6 and 7 points respectively.
Zesco United seemed tired in the second half and it looked more likely Chambeshi had his plans well worked on. The first half had little to talk about as the victors looked timid, held and small.
However Mubanga’s opener woke up Nkana to continue with the record of having never lost a Caf game at home for the 59th time.
Nkana will have to beat Al Hilal in the final fixture in Sudan few days from now and they should hope Al Hilal draws today in Kumasi so that they only have to avoid defeat.
Meanwhile Zesco are now completely out of the confederations with only four points.
