Closed caskets take off as ZSL returns

News from Zambia super league

Closed caskets? The thrills and spills, highs, and lows scenes and sins will be back in the Zambian stadia this weekend as the Zambia Super league comes back.

The stadia will be empty but one law remains loaded. Their are closed caskets awaiting the bottom four at the end of it all and sure take offs to glory.

Zesco United will begin their new life under coach Numba with a tricky trip to NAPSA Stars. NAPSA still dripping fresh drops of the glory of a second place finish last season and some sweet scents of glory, Zesco might be up for a step on a landmine.

On the other hand, Zesco United doesn’t look like a team in a negotiating mood after missing out on continental football. The Ndola giants will go for the kill but the David in NAPSA might have the right sling. Mouthwatering encounter.

Back in the friendly city of Ndola, defending Champions Nkana will launch their title defense with a tricky bout against stubborn Forest Rangers.

Nkana flexed their muscles and will power when they trampled upon Indeni in the Charity shield a week ago and that set a loud pitched tone for some intense and bloody battles for their title challengers.

Forest Rangers by and by have a consolidated squad capable of reaping any side to shreds on their day. The showdown in Ndola is already promising some spills of blood and broken jaws.

Across in the capital, battles on the ground and in the air look set as Green Buffaloe’s plot a ground assort on their airmen counterparts. The intensity, energy, and desire to rule between the two have ever been brutal each time they meet and this season opener looks even more captivating.

Green Buffaloes will rely on Young Golden Mashata partnering with Friday Samu and Robinson Siame in a tripled attack while Red Arrows will rely on evergreen James Chamanga and young Patrick Ngoma for a flying start to the season.

Elsewhere, powerful Power Dynamoes will entertain embattled Young Green Eagles at the mercurial Arthur Davies stadium. In Solwezi, Lumwana Radiants kick off a campaign with a visit by unpredictable Nkwazi while magnificent people’s team will play host to Green Eagles.

The caskets of demotion are closed, and the take offs are on. The ZSL returns. The super league is back.
