In mind of the lad’s last perofrmance today’s showdown is poised to be a true test of Zambia’s mettle as they seek to overcome the formidable challenge posed by their West African counterparts.
In the opening match in Group C, Benin kicked in behind the net first with a goal from Rodolfo Aloko in the 57th minute, putting Zambia on the back foot. However, Zambia showed their resilience by responding with a goal from Rickson Ngambi just three minutes later to equalize the score. Nonetheless, in today’s encounter against the Gambia, Chisi’ men will look to an attacking force to be led by Derrick Bulaya, Kingstone Mutandwa, and Rickson Ng’ambi, while Gift Mphande, Happy Nsiku, Lombe Mutale, and Amon Chulu will anchor the defense.
In the midfield, Charles Majapa, Songa Chipyoka, Peter Chikola, and Julius Kumwenda will work tirelessly to control the game and create scoring opportunities. Still this match promises Zambia has a tough time meeting Gambia.
For the Gambia team, a victory against Zambia will automatically qualify them for the quarterfinals. Gambia currently holds the highest points in the group after recording a victory in the first match against Tunisia. Alagie Sane’s 84th-minute-only goal was the deciding factor in that match, and the Gambian team will be hoping to replicate that success against Tunisia, no wonder why Zambia has tough time meeting Gambia
