The unstoppable Zesco United played their first super league match against Konkola Blades with a victory. The rescheduled match was at Levy Mwanawasa on Wednesday 19th April 2017.
Goals came from Lazarous Kambole just before the break in 44th minute and Idriss Mbombo later into the second half at the 74th mark.
ZESCO SILENCE KONKOLA BLADES
Zesco United overcame Konkola Blades 2-0 in MTN FAZ Super League week One rescheduled match played on Wednesday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
It was United’s first domestic league match after being involved in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Lazarous Kambole headed in a Fackson Kapumbu cross after 44 minutes of play to give the host 1-0 lead before half-time. United where awarded a penalty in second half but Jesse Were failed to convert the spot kick.
Striker Idris Mbombo made it 2-0 in 74th minute thanks to a Kapumbu free kick.
The Ndola side move up to 7th position on the league table with a game in hand against Nakambala Leopards.
United host Nchanga Rangers on Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in week 3 fixture.
