Forest Stay top as the league break into week 3

Adamu Zikuru

The exhilarating Zambia Super league kept teaming with drama and complicated excitement when it unfolded and break into week 3 and Zedsoccer brings you the highlights of the busy week.

Adam Zikiru went top of the top scorers chat when he scored his third goal of the season. Forest Rangers forced a one all stales mate against big-spending Lusaka Dynamoes but have claimed the top spot.

Nightmare in the ghost town

Twenty-one goals in his first season in Zambia came at Kabwe Warriors when he helped the Peoples team win promotion back to the premier league in 2013.

From there, Mbombo has been on the move but one thing has always been imminent, his mission in the ghost town was far from over.

Now carrying Nkana on his shoulders, Idriss Mbombo returned to Kabwe and maximized his zombie factor when he mauled Kabwe Warriors with a terror strike at the death to give Nkana all three points against a team that taught him how to bite.

Warders Falling from Grace

Prison Leopard’s nosedive and fall from Grace got out of control when Red Arrows kicked them hard and rough at Ucar 107. The warders began the league on a fire note posting a 2-0 win over their fellow in-comers Kitwe United before Power Dynamoes held them to a reality check in midweek.

That draw saw them evicted from plot one to the third position and the fall gained some double mileage on Saturday when a Felix Bulaya Strike two minutes after Prisons had made a double substitution in the first half condemned them to 5th position and the worst might yet be to come as they get on the road in week four.

SQUARE BATTLES OF THE GROND AND SKY

In Lusaka a little showdown of Eagles and Buffaloes had a cold ending for Buffaloes as Green Eagles fought back to hold them to a draw in a ticklish 2020/21 season.

Robbinson Siame and 17-year-old Golden Mashata tormented Green Eagles all day long with punishing runs left right and center. However, the display was not good enough for the Buffaloes to pick their first win of the season.

Jackson Chirwa who benefited from every trouble they caused when he fired home from the spot-kick to give Green Buffaloes the lead. When Buffaloes felt the first three points were in their bag, Hosea Silwamba stuck from the sky in the 90th minute and spoils were shared.

Elsewhere over the weekend, Adam Zikiru went top of the top scorers chat when he scored his third goal of the season when Forest Rangers forced a one all stales mate against big-spending Lusaka Dynamoes.

Nkwazi and ZANACO played to a standstill in a 1-1 draw at Sunset Stadium and panic needles have begun to be felt on the Chair Chris Kaunda sits.
