Harsh disciplinary hearing for Arrows, Zesco survives by skin of teeth Is part of the sensational Zambia super league weekly match updates
Zesco United survived an oil spill while Red Arrows were given a baptism by fire at the hands of Lusaka Dynamos as week 10 of the Zambia Super league swelled and burst into some thrills and spills of intoxicating drama.
3 ZESCO v INDENI 2
A five goal thriller in Ndola saw Zesco survive by the skin of their teeth as Indeni dropped them an oil spill of a scare.
The most important task for Zesco stepping into this fixture was to take care of all naked wires as any oil spill up front might have shut down power. It’s a Zesco side that had not shown any fight, will power and character to fight from behind and win; stepping into this match, they had lots of knots to tie.
The match started on a slow note with both teams even and square as they traded punches in the battle for the midfield.
Bruce Musakanya and Sabumukama however, began pulling strings in midfield as they half-rolled away stretching the oil men left, right and center. It didn’t take long before Indeni’s resistance broke loose.
A telling cross from Tozizi on the left got sweetly buried in the net with thumping panache by Chingandu and that was the last action of the first fourth five.

The start of the second half flashed a quick green light of drama when Tranquilin Mwepu headed into an empty Zesco net Two minutes into restart to send Indeni level as the two teams declined into a hybernation of passing but barren exchanges.
It was not until the 60th minute when Odhiambo’s shot from a Bruce Musakanya cross got parried away by the Indeni goal keeper only for the ball to hit into the defender and bounce back into the goal and Zesco were in front .
The first wave of drama buried in the day came to light ten minutes before full time when Indeni equalised through Djunese Kanda. Kanda swung in a spectacular piece of football magic as his free kick needled into the Zesco net like a a rocket.
Right at the nick of time, Zesco won a penalty and Logic Chingandu put the ball beyond the net with poise that gave Zesco maximum points.
Meanwhile in Lusaka at the same time, it was baptism by fire as Lusaka Dynamoes put four past Red Arrows. A brace from Collins Sikombe and one apiece from Ocean Mushure and Aubrey Funga saw Lusaka Dynamoes beat Red Arrows 4-1in an exciting super league fixture played in Lusaka. Red Arrows scored through Felix Bulaya as they were given a reality check in another of the day’s early kick off.
