
Nkana Football Club this afternoon cruised past defending champions Zanaco 4-0 in the Week 26 match of the FAZ Super League played on Sunday at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.
Both teams started on a high tempo but it was striker Walter Bwalya who broke the deadlock when he struck from an acute angle after he was set up by John Mwangeni 11 minutes after kick off.
Bwalya added the second goal on 44th minute when he superbly headed in a Shadreck Musonda corner.
Binene added the third goal on 59th minute via a powerful header from a Shadreck Musonda corner.
Nkana wrapped up the day with the fourth goal from creative midfielder Jacob Ngulube via a diving header on 77th minute thanks to a Walter Bwalya pass.
Sunday’s win has pushed Nkana to 5th position on 44 points after playing 26 games.
Zanaco remain 4th on the log with 2 games in hand on 44 points.
Binene takes his goal tally to 9 this season.
Nkana travel to Lumwana on Saturday to take on Lumwana Radiants in Week 27 fixture.
At Shinde Stadium, Mufulira Wanderers recorded their 5th win of the season when they overcame Lusaka Dynamos 1-0. Joseph Sitali scored in addition time through a free kick.
