Ndola giants Zesco United thrashed bottom placed City of Lusaka 4-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in the rescheduled Week 26 match of the FAZ Super League on Sunday. Kambole scored a brace to push United into second position dispatching City further into relegation.
Zesco’s pressure paid off in 47th minute when Striker Jesse Were scored from a Simon Silwimba assist to give his side 1-0 lead.
Minutes later, Lazarous Kambole increased the lead to 2-0 this time assisted by Striker Jesse Were.
City of Lusaka pulled one back in 70th minute to make it 2-1.
Three minutes later , Kambole scored his goal second of the match putting United in a comfortable 3-1 advantage.
Substitute Chibesa Chanda wrapped up the match by scoring his first goal for the Ndola side since his switch from Lusaka Tigers in addition time.
United move on to 59 points with a game in hand, one point behind leaders Zanaco who are on 60 points.
As for City of Lusaka they remain rooted at the bottom of the table on 15 points after playing 32 matches.
Zesco will welcome Kabwe Warriors in their last week 30 game in hand at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Wednesday before traveling to Lusaka to face Police Club Nkwazi in Week 33 fixture on Saturday
