The 2019-2020 Zambian super league season will hit the trail this afternoon with explosive fixtures on the cards.
Zesco v Zanaco
The Zanaco – ZESCO showdown will be by far the most captivating clash of the weekend and what a way to start a season. However, there are other matches across the country which promise a better spectacle than the ZESCO – ZANACO Rendezvous.
Nkana vs Green Buffaloes
Nkana will host Green Buffaloes in a match that is promising great pace and lovely intensity. It is a fixture swathed in melodramatic antagonism and this will be a test of character for both sides.
Nkana has assembled a team that looks invisible on paper but Buffaloes has never been an easy opponent. With Diamond Chikwekwe not eligible to feature against his parent club, Nkana will look for creativity from Harrison Chisala and the finishing power of IDRISS MBOMBO to beat the Army side that has not made significant changes to their squad.
Mufulira Wanderers v NAPSA Stars
NAPSA stars make a trip to Mufulira to take on the legendary Mighty Mufulira wanderers in a match that is always played with thrilling momentum.
The last time the two sides met was on November 4, 2017, at woodlands stadium and Mufulira Wanderers beat NAPSA 2-1, the legendary side will want to pick this fixture from that confidence but they will need to be warry of a tricky NAPSA side that has been improving eacb season.
Nkwazi v Forest Rangers
In Lusaka, Nkwazi will be welcoming Forest Rangers and the two sides will fight like they owe each other. From a paperwork perspective, Forest Rangers looks more of a hungrier and determined side than a Nkwazi team that has been quiet throughout the pre-season.
While Forest Rangers have lost their key man in Austin Muwowo, they will look for inspiration from Conlyde Luchanga who has rediscovered his form after moving to Ndola from Lusaka Dynamos.

Lusaka Dynamos v Lumwana Radiants
With Chris Mugalu back from Ndola and training with the team for the first time since last season, Lusaka Dynamos seem to be ready to go after a very difficult is the season. They will be hosting Lumwana Radiants and after a couple of seasons playing top-flight football, Lumwana must finally come of age.
They will need to play with lots of courage and hearts to bring down Lusaka Dynamos in Lusaka but with Anos Tembo leading the attack and Lusaka Dynamos without Tiberius Lombard who has moved to ZANACO, the football world will watch this fixture with tinglings of fascination.
