Napsa Stars is set to meet Zanaco in the Zambia Barclays cup final 2017. The final match is set for Heroes Stadium on October 28th. Napsa got the first entry into the final of Barclays Cup after beating Zesco United 4-2 on post match penalties.
The early kick off Napsa Stars vs Zesco United at Nkoloma stadium saw a drawless scoreline at close of the 90 minutes regulated time. Going into penalties Alex Mwamba was first to step up to the challenge giving the lead to Napsa Stars.
Then Jesse Were restored parity for Zesco with Solomon Sakala scoring the second one for Napsa .
David Odhiambo equalised the affair but Austin Banda scored for Napsa to separate the two sides.
This was followed by Dickson Chapa shoot going wide registering as the only Napsa’s penalty kick miss. Then Fackson Kapumbu and Maybin Kalengo missed the two other penalties for United.
But it was Collins Sikombe that scored the winner for Napsa and saw the team storm through to the final of the Zambia Barclays Cup competition.
Napsa vs Zanaco in the final
On the other hand the second match of the double header saw Sensational Zanaco beat Lusaka Dynamos via 1-0. Felix Nyaende scored early on through the header in the 22nd and went on to win man of the match.
Nothing could help the Elite Lusaka Dynamos despite the appearance of names Sydney Kalume, Fwayo Tembo and Cletus Chama
Zanaco have set foot to the Barclays cup final before but have failed to bank the only competitive cup in Zambian football. Between Napsa and Zanaco the winner of the cup will walk away with 350,000 kwacha.
