Napsa Stars shines taming Buffaloes and storming into Barclays Cup 2017 semi finals. Napsa defeated Green Buffaloes 3-2 in the quarter-finals on post match penalties on Sunday 24th October at Nkoloma Stadium.

This follows after the two teams settled for a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes in the lunch-time kick off. Lottie Phiri gave the soldiers lead on 45th minute before Napsa’s Mangani Phiri leveled the matters in stoppage time to take the match into penalties.

Napsa’s penalties were converted by Alex Mwamba, Austin Banda and Dickson Chapa while Solomon Sakala failed to score. The soldiers scored through Adrian Chama and Simon Lombe. Jack Chirwa, Felony Sitonga and Lottie Phiri missed their spot kick.

At the same venue, Marvin Jere’s 46th minute goal was all Lusaka Dynamos needed to see off Kabwe Youth Academy 1-0.

Other team that has qualified automatically is Zanaco after Kitwe outfit Power Dynamos withdrawal from the competition.

Action continues on Wednesday at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe with Kitwe United and Zesco United battling out for the remaining slot.
