Nkana overshadows Zesco United: Nkana football record their first-ever victory against Zesco United in a thrilling 3 – 2 goals. This was in the MTN FAZ super league week 32 hosted by Zesco at Levy Mwanawasa in Ndola. 

Since 2004 Nkana has failed to make a breakthrough against the 5 times league champions. Instead, they have suffered 15 losses and have endured 6 draws.

The Walter Bwalya penalty and later a header with Simon Bwalya goal pushed Nkana to the 3 goals ahead of Zesco

A thrilling game for Nkana as they came from a goal behind. Idriss Mbombo made a breakthrough in the 17th minute with a brilliant header crushing down the goalie.  A chip from Clatous Chama had passed Joseph Musonda and and Donashano was late.

It was later just before the break that Walter Bwalya converted from the spot.

Two minutes after the break Simon Bwalya apt the game with a surprise. Shadreck Musonda’s chip replica found Simon Bwalya before Ben Adama Banh could react. The 10-man Zesco put up the defense after aerials of advances from the determined visitors.

Three minutes before the full regulation time another chip now from Diego Apene found Walter Bwalya amid a confused Zesco defence and a header into the net proved 3 against the host.

In the 90th minute from nowhere there was the Idriss Mbombo header from Ben’s cross. But time was up and Zesco recorded the 3 – 1 loss. The win ensures Nkana contends for the second position in the league.
