Nkana football club remembers the memory of Coach Masautso Mwale whose passing away mark two years today. Masautso Mwale died in a car accident along the Ndola Kitwe dual carriage way on the night of 23rd May 2014. Nkana was in camp to play in the CAF Champions League against Sewe Sport of Cote d’Voire that ended in a 1:1 draw. Few days earlier the team had travelled back from Egypt where they lost 2:0 to Al Ahly.
Masautso is remembered for his God fearing attitude and nurturing of Nkana football club players. He is considered as one of the best coaches for the club.
“Family lets remember this gallant man in everything that we do” a fan wrote on the Nkana Football Club forum.
“To the team please reward him with the 13th title. Continue resting in peace.” The message ended
Importantly Masautso Mwale delivered the 12th title for Nkana making the club count toward the highest number of achievement of super league championship in Zambia. He joined the struggling Nkana (that almost got relegated in the previous season) early 2013 coming from Konkola football club though having spent a lot of time on the Zesco United technical bench.
Masautso inspired a God fearing attitude into the club and the fans especially that Nkana supporters and fans where at the period of football violence and hooliganism. Also his style of play was enjoyed by most fans
The Nkana football club socialite pages and groups have been filled up with his memories and wishes for eternal peace and rest.
