At home in the second round Zambia gave no chance to Algeria thrashing the African Giant 3-1. In that encounter Algeria played without the Leicester City Star Mahrez. Still in the return match Mahrez could not give his team any rescue when Kennedy Mweene had to save his penalty.
In the 15th Minute there was an infringement within the box and the Algerians had the stakes high early in the game when the referee pointed to the spot.
Wedson has lightened up hope for the Chipolopolo with the hopes of qualifying to the World Cup. And this is the first time Zambia has beat Algeria back to back.
