Patson Daka is a Zambian international football player who plays for Leicester City in the English premier league. In June 2021 Patson made a record transfer market in the Zambian football history of 23 million pounds from Redbull Salzburg to Leicester.
Before Salzburg Patson had been with the Austrian First Division Club FC Liefering as a striker and the under 20 Zambia national men’s team. He is a regular feature of the Zambia National team and the Under 23 Chipolopolo.
Patson Daka was born on 9th October 1998 in Kafue Lusaka, Zambia. Patson went to Nchanga Rangers as a 16-year-old in 2015 and played under the late Fighton Simukonda. But he was discovered as a 13-year-old during an Airtel Rising Stars tournament three years earlier.
Patson is nicknamed PAPA and beginning in 2017 he joined FC Liefering which is a Red Bull Salzburg’s feeder CLUB. Patson’s great effort lies in his ability to utilize intelligently the center-forward as he uses both legs and shows a quickening skill on both feet and a receivability of aerial balls.

In 2015 Patson made his debut for Zambia national team senior as then-coach George “Chicken” Lwandamina handed him a starting cue against Guinea-Bissau at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. In the same season, he scored for Zambia Under-17 against Uganda in a Niger 2015 Under-17 Africa Youth Championship qualifier at Nkoloma Stadium in a 2-0 win.
Beginning in 2016 he featured for Zambia at the CHAN tournament and developed more confidence leading to 13 goals capped in all competition for the year and while at Power Dynamos football club with the prestigious 2016 Zambian Young Player of the year. A total of 10 senior caps contributed to that achievement.
