Sensational Zanaco finally clinch the Barclays cup 2017 after beating Napsa Stars football club 2-1 to lift this year’s cup for the first time at Heroes National Stadium on Saturday.
The match started on the high tempo with both sides missing clear cut chances in the first half.
The two sides went into half-time scoreless.
But it was Youremember Banda who opened the scoring when he headed in a Chitoshi Mukuma cross on 46th minute to give his side lead.
Zanaco restored parity in 83rd minute when Striker Felix Nyaende scored from penalty after defender Derrick Mwanza fouled Charles Zulu inside the 18 yard area to take the match into extra time.
Midfielder Isaac Chansa doubled the advantage in extra time after benefiting from a Charles Zulu cross to guide his side win this years 11th edition of the Barclays Cup.
Napsa have won Barclays Cup once and that was in 2012 when beat Power Dynamos 4-2.
