“Sweet Victory” Says Nkana Fans As Buffaloes and Zesco Drop Points

It was sweet victory for Nkana taking route to social media celebration as the club closed in the gap between the log leader Zesco United and Green Buffaloes.

Goals either side of half-time from Idris Ilunga Mbombo sealed a 3-1 victory over stubborn Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy for Kalampa to close the gap on leaders Zesco United to 3 points .

This was in the Week 31 match of the MTN-FAZ Super Division in which forward Mbombo reach 19 Nkana league goals in 31 appearances on Sunday at Nkana Stadium .

Mbombo found the back of the net on 34th minute assisted by Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba .

Kalampa went into half time leading by a lone goal.

In the second stanza , the prolific striker Mbombo doubled the advantage from a well taken Mubanga free kick to send Kalampa faithfuls into wild jubilation .

Goerge Queishe reduced the deficit to 2-1 after he scored from a close range on 76th minute .

Mbombo wrapped up the scoring with a penalty on 88th minute after he was brought down by KYS Academy defender to make it 3-1 .

Nkana have now gone 12 games unbeaten with 14 clean sheets and have scored 53 league goals this season .

Zesco United are still commanding the FAZ Super Division table on 64 points with a game in hand after 31 matches .

Buffaloes are second with 63 points while Kalampa remain third on the log with 61 points from 31 matches played .

Green Eagles complete the top four on 58 points following their 2-0 win against Nchanga Rangers.
