The Senegal national football team, nicknamed the Lions of Teranga, is the national team of Senegal and is controlled by the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football.
The best Senegal has done in the CAF history is in the year 2002 when they came runners up in the African Nations Cup. It was the same year they made their first appearance at the FIFA world cup where they beat the world cup champions France by a goal to null and went to reach the quarter-finals.
