The most explosive rival matches in the Zambia league also known as kopala derby. This game was filled with high expectations from fans on either side. It marked a third in meeting in 2018 between the two clubs.
It didn’t take much time as power introduced themselves early through Jimmy Dzingai. Nkana`s power play did work and in the 27th minute. Landlord Ronald `Sate Sate` Kampamba headed home from a Kelvin Kampamba cross to make it 1 all.
And in the 42nd minute Kelvin Kampamba made 2-1 assisted by Ronald Kampamba. The two kampamba are well known to be so dangerous when it comes to use their intelligence to hurt the opponents.
Into the second half Power Dynamos quickly equalized in the 50th minute through Elvis Rupia.
But from there on the game did not produce much until in the 3rd minute of added time referee Janny Sikazwe awarded Nkana a penalty which was followed by drama. Referee Sikazwe disallowed Idris Mbombo goal only to award Power Dynamos an indirect free kick citing Walter Bwalya infringed the laws of the game due to unsporting behavior.
Again the game was to be decided through penalty shoot out which Nkana won 4-5. And that is how the derby was concluded.
