Young Green Eagles’ fate lies in the upcoming fixtures with Nkana is part of the ongoing large story that involves teams that are threatened for relegation in the MTN super league. Those teams include Kitwe United, Nkana, Lumwana Radiants and Napsa Stars.
Ema Emison fluently writes about football especially the Zambian super league and FAZ Eden university national league.
The Kafue-based side has played 31 games so far scoring 22 goals and allowing 33 with a -11 goal difference lying on 12th position with 39 points.
They are not yet safe of staying in the super league hence they need to collect atleast four points from the possible nine in their remaining three games.
That may sound easy on paper but let’s see the three teams they will be facing before the close of the 2020/21 season next month.
Young Green Eagles vs Nkana – Week 32
This match I think will decide Young Green Eagles fate and should Nkana win then trouble will fall on the Kafue-based side as either Nkana or Napsa Stars may leap-frog them owing to their respective games in hands.
They just have to beat Nkana first to move to 42 points and need only one point to pick up from the other two games.
Zesco United vs Young Green Eagles
Another tough test for Young Eagles and playing away to Zesco United who are chasing for their nineth league title won’t be an easy task to ask.
The temple of this match will depend on the week 32 Nkana game result. If they lose then Tonka Tusike will have no option but fight for three points as the chase from Nkana and Napsa will be too much to maintain.
Young Green Eagles vs Lusaka Dynamos
They will lap up the league with a home game against the elites and if by then Lusaka Dynamos will have sealed the top four slot then young green eagles will have an upper hand and playing at Khosa stadium will be a very difficult game for Lusaka Dynamos.
But if the top four slots won’t be sealed by the elites before week thirty-four then I see young green eagles losing and leaving the survival slot to either Nkana or Napsa Stars should they win all the games.
I think if Napsa Stars and Nkana will manage to surpass 40 points then Young Green Eagles and Indeni will be the sides to go down looking at the number of games and teams they remain to play with.
However, as earlier mention, their fate will be known after the Nkana game and this will determine who stays between Nkana and Young Green Eagles.
Khosa stadium will play an important role for their survival as they have picked up crucial wins at arbatour.
Nkana will have to play at 110% if they will need to win this match and a lose for Aba Red will mean Doom.
