Zambia returns to Korea with cherished memories

Zambia national team 2017 afcon champions

Zambia returns to the Republic of Korea with cherished memories. Just from having won the 2017 Africa Cup of nations under-20, Zambia is in high morale as they prep for Korea.  Korea nation has represented several victories for Zambia national football team.

FIFA today 15th March 2017 conducted the grouping draw for the World Cup under-20. The interesting “Juju boys” Senegal got a better portion of the grouping. They were placed in Group F. They will play Ecuador, United States of America and the Saudis. With a better and strong footing, they can wind up into the quarterfinals.

Zambia returns to Korea for FIFA world cup U-20 with cherished memories. Placed in Group C with Iran, Costa Rica and Portugal. Last observed in Korea was the Summer Olympics 1988 where Zambia national football team came top of Group B. They humiliated Italy with an astonishing 4-0 score line. Not enough they forged on to hammer Guatemala another 4-0 and only drew with Iraq.

The last Zambia visited Korea was a friendly where Emmanuel Mayuka’s only goal served Zambia from the 2 – 1 Korean victory.

Group A

Diego Maradona proved disquieting in 1986. It was a match which included two of the most famous goals in football history, both scored by Maradona. The first goal, after 51 minutes, was to become known as the “Hand of God goal”, which Maradona scored by using his hand.

His second, four minutes after his first, saw him dribble past five England players, Beardsley, Reid, Butcher, Fenwick, Butcher (again), and finally goalkeeper Peter Shilton, and became known as the “Goal of the Century.”

Moving a decade later another iconic moment was recorded at the 1998 world cup.

“The Argentina-England rivalry had elevated the excitement surrounding the game to a feverish pitch. England was desperate to avenge the defeat of the 1986 world Cup. But shocking enough Beckham red card for free tipping off of Diego Simeone defined shocking moments for the rising hero and kept England at bay.

‘After being fouled by Diego Simeone, Mr. Goldenballs Beckham lying on the ground, vented his frustration with a cheeky little flick of his right-leg tripping over a backward-walking Simeone.” Now the rivalry returns in a youngling form with the under-20.

Guinea and South Africa placement

Guinea will have it tough as they face the football giants in Group A but Korea will kick off with the morale of the host. Germany will battle it out and is expected to emerge the victors for Group B knowing Mexico will put up the fight. Group B includes the Oceanic country of Vanuatu and the struggling Venezuela.

Country of Venezuela is in crisis both politically and football wise. Venezuela under-20 past 10 games have seeing the boys with only two victories and made to the world cup under 20 Korea from the two wins and five draws.

South Africa will toil against formidable Japan and Italy with the tough Uruguay. Comfortably to say Group D will be tough. Group E looks passable as France is set to be on a better side and presumably will have it easy as they face Honduras, Vietnam and New Zealand.
